Kansas Recruitment Center Attends Career Options Day 2009

Marinn Rank, sr. recruitment coordinator, visited Kansas City Jan. 31 for the Kansas State Nursing Association (KSNA) Career Options Day 2009, sponsored by the University of Kansas School of Nursing. Nursing students from the entire metro area, as well as across Kansas and Missouri, were invited to attend. This provided the Kansas Recruitment Center staff with the opportunity to share their recruiting services and present students with nursing job opportunities that are available in Kansas.


Kansas Recruitment Center Announces New Placements

The Kansas Recruitment Center (KRC) is excited to announce the latest placements in rural Kansas.

Cloud County Health Center (CCHC), Concordia, Kan., will welcome a new family physician. Bonnie Cramer, MD, will join the staff of CCHC in August 2009 upon completion of her Smoky Hill Family Medicine Residency. Dr. Cramer is a 2006 graduate of the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Wichita, Kan.

The Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas (CHC/SEK), Pittsburg, Kan., will welcome a new family physician. Joshua Brueggemann, MD, will join the staff of CHC/SEK in summer 2009 upon completion of his Via Christi Family Medicine Residency. Dr. Brueggemann is a 2006 graduate of the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Kansas City, Kan.

Salina Family Health Center (SFHC), Salina, Kan., hired a new general practitioner in January 2009 with assistance from KRC. Joseph Eker, MD, joined the staff of SFHC, Jan. 13. Dr. Eker is a 1980 graduate of the University of Missouri and completed an internship with the Medical College of Ohio, Toledo, Ohio., in 1981. In 1982, he completed his residency with Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Md.


New RHES Display

RHES Showed Off New Display and Visited with Nursing Students at Career Fair

On Monday, Jan. 19 Marinn Rank, sr. recruitment coordinator and Joyce Tibbals, assistant director, RHES, attended the Kansas Wesleyan University nursing career fair in Salina, Kan. They visited with students, informing them of RHES programs. The event had a good turnout with many students interested in the Kansas Recruitment Center’s services. The event was the debut for our brand new display, designed by Amanda Gardner, sr. communications coordinator, RHES.


RHES Launches Blog

In an effort to keep up to date with technology, RHES has launched a new blog. The blog is an additional tool to showcase our efforts and dedication to rural health in Kansas. The blog is located at www.ruralhealtheducationandservices.blogspot.com. In addition, RHES has entered the world of social networking with our new Facebook page. Become a fan by searching for us. Our page will be another opportunity to update fans on happenings and post pictures of various events.


MINK Meeting

Joyce Tibbals, assistant director of RHES, visited Kansas City on Friday, Feb. 6, for a Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska & Kansas (MINK) MidwestMD Physician Recruitment & Retention Network meeting.

Joyce, Auburn and Tyler of the Kansas Recruitment Center (KRC) are all members of MINK. Through networking and educational development, MINK members seek to insure integrity and maintain a selective, knowledgeable approach to recruitment and retention in a cost effective and quality conscious manner. MINK strives to improve the overall excellence and accessibility of health care in the communities served.


Lincoln County Focus on Kansas site goes live

The Lincoln county Focus on Kansas site has gone live. Visit the site to catch a glimpse of life in Lincoln, Kan., and to learn more about Lincoln County Hospital. Focus on Kansas is a Web site developed by the Kansas Recruitment Center (KRC) and Kansas Locum Tenens (KLT) to showcase rural Kansas communities and their health care organizations. Focus on Kansas hopes to link health care providers with temporary and permanent positions in rural Kansas.
