KANSAS RECRUITMENT CENTER WELCOMES NEW PLACEMENTS

The Kansas Recruitment Center (KRC) is excited to announce the latest placements in Rural Kansas.


Stacy Dashiell, MD
With assistance from the Kansas Recruitment Center (KRC), three more communities have hired new physicians. Augusta Family Practice, Augusta, Kan., welcomed Teran Naccarato, MD, family physician, in November. Dr. Naccarato is working in Augusta part-time. He is a 2005 graduate of KUSM-Kansas City. He completed his residency with the Via Christi Family Residency Program, Wichita, Kan., in 2008.

This summer Medical Center PA, Sterling, Kan., will welcome Stacy Dashiell, MD, family physician (pictured to the right). Dr. Dashiell is a 2007 graduate of KUSM-Kansas City. She will complete her residency training with Research Family Medicine Residency, Kansas City, Mo., in June.

Labette Health in Parsons, Kan. will welcome Julie Griffin, MD, hospitalist, this summer. Dr. Griffin is a 2006 graduate of KUSM-Wichita. She will complete her residency training at the University of Kentucky in Lexington in July.

Since its inception in 2003, KRC has made 86 placements. KRC serves health care professionals as a career service center by matching candidates with openings in the state.

RHES VISITED WITH NURSING STUDENTS AT CAREER FAIR

On Monday, Jan. 18 Auburn Rickman, sr. recruitment coordinator attended the Kansas Wesleyan University nursing career fair in Salina, Kan. She visited with students about the Kansas Recruitment Center’s (KRC) services. The event had a good turnout with many students interested in learning more about the KRC.

WICHITA STATE UNIVERSITY CAREER FAIR

RHES staff exhibited at the Wichita State University Health Professions Career Fair on Feb. 8, in Wichita, Kan. The career fair attracted numerous nursing, physical therapy and allied health care students, and provided the opportunity for RHES staff to highlight career opportunities in Kansas.

KRC VISITS SOUTHEAST KANSAS

KRC staff has been busy traveling to Kansas communities in an effort to gain a better understanding of the recruitment needs for the health care organizations in each area. Site visits allow KRC to better match candidates’ needs with a clearer insight to the community and organization’s opportunities. RHES WILL HOST PRESENTATION: Life as a Rural Physician

Rural Health Education and Services (RHES) will host a luncheon and presentation entitled, “Life as a Rural Doctor in Kansas” presented by Clint Colberg, MD, Holton, Kan., on Monday, April 5 at Rieke Auditorium in Kansas City. Dr. Colberg is a KU School of Medicine - Wichita graduate and completed his Family Medicine residency at Smoky Hill Family Medicine in Salina, Kan. He currently practices at Family Practice Associates.
