Kansas Medical Resource Placing Interim Physicians in Kansas
Kansas Medical Resource is placing many interim physicians for specialty care this summer in Kansas. Specialty areas such as OB/GYN, Psychiatry, Radiation Oncology and many more are available. Kansas Recruitment Center Presents at NRHA Annual Conference
Joyce Tibbals and Marinn Rank of the Kansas Recruitment Center (KRC) presented at the National Rural Health Association’s annual conference in Anchorage, Alaska on May 17. The presentation was entitled Innovative Approaches to Rural Healthcare Recruitment and Retention. It was very well received and the Kansas Recruitment Center was pleased to have had to opportunity to share KRC recruitment practices.

Rural Health Staff Retreat to Cottonwood Falls
On June 13, the Rural Health Education and Services staff, traveled to the Flint Hills and Cottonwood Falls, Kan. At the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve, they took a bus tour of the Flint Hills and learned about the Spring Hill Ranch. Over lunch, at the historic Grand Central Hotel and Grill, the staff reviewed the FY07 year and discussed program and project development.
Rural Health Staffs a Booth at KAFP Annual Meeting
Rural Health Education and Services helped staff the KU Medical Center External Affairs booth at the Kansas Academy of Family Physicians Annual Meeting and Scientific Session on June 14-15 at the Marriot Hotel in Wichita, Kan. Information was made available and questions were answered in regards to the KUMC outreach programs which are a part of the External Affairs division. KRC Visited Central Kansas
KRC staff visited central Kansas communities in June in an effort to gain a better understanding of the recruiting needs of the health care organizations in that area. The site visits will allow KRC to better match candidates’ needs with a clearer insight to the community and organization opportunities.
